Recycling Facility Tour

Date: April 15 cancelled/new date TBA

Space is limited- no private tours for groups or schools. Anyone under 18 is not able to participate in the MRF tour. To sign up, email info@cvwma.com

Three Lakes Park Earth Day Celebration (Henrico County)

For all ages. Activities and entertainment will include educational booths and displays, children's puppet show, recycling games, the Henrico County Bookmobile, arts and crafts, games, face painting, and more. The Wildlife Center of Virginia will be on-site with live animals and will educate you on animal rescue. The Three Lakes Nature Center will feature hands-on activities and educational displays.

CVWMA is celebrating 20 years as central Virginia's recycling authority. The public is invited to celebrate our anniversary kick-off and Earth Day with the Richmond Flying Squirrels. Gates open at 6 pm and Game time for Recycling Night at The Diamond is 7:05 pm. Don't miss the pre-game festivities! 2,500 free hats to be given away; music by God Fearin' Snake Handlers; autograph and photo ops with Nutzy and and R3 (mascots); recycling trivia game, and much, much more!Call the ticket office for ticket information at 359-FUNN.

   

 

Richmond Earth Day Festival

Children's Garden Spring Fling at Lewis Ginter Botancial Garden

Sunday, April 25, 1- 4 pm

Kick off the gardening season at the Children's Garden. This community celebration offers family friendly music, entertainment, activities, and food. This event is the Sunday after Earth Day (April 22) and includes activities promoting environmental stewardship and highlighting the work of local "green" partners. Neighborhood Clean Up and Beautification Events

 

Register now to be part of the Great American Cleanup

Keep America Beautiful (KAB) is promoting the annual Great American Cleanup which runs from

March 1- May 31, 2010. Anyone can organize a cleanup and register with KAB. For more information please visit the KAB website

 

April is Keep Henrico Beautiful Month

Contact the Keep Henrico Beautiful office at 501-4502 or click the following link for the KHB website to sign up to do a litter pickup, host a recycling collection, host a beautification project, etc.. Beginning April 1 residents can nominate a business and a home for the annual Keep Henrico Beautiful awards sponsored by the Keep Henrico Beautiful Committee. The committee is looking for businesses and homes that recycle, have a litter-free property and exemplary landscaping. Planning a Cleanup in Your Area?

The Charles City Planning and Zoning office has litter bags, gloves and other supplies for any one wishing to have a neighborhood cleanup. The office can also arrange to hvae any rubbish you pick up to be disposed of. Call 804-652-4807 for more information. Why not cleanup during the month of April and take your unwanted tires, household hazardous waste, TVs, computers and other unwanted electronics to the Charles City County landfill on Chambers Road.

 

April 17-24 is Annual Cleanup Week for the City of Hopewell

The City of Hopwell encourages its residents to do a litter cleanup any day from April 17 through April 24 to conicide with Earth Day 2010.
