CVWMA Electronics Collections

April 5, 12, 19, 20, 26 and May 3

Various locations in central Virginia, including Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, Powhatan, and Richmond.

Recycle unwanted electronic devices at one of 10 collections events sponsored by CVWMA, our member local governments and Ukrop's Super Markets.

Chesterfield Environmental Fair

9:00 am to 2:00 pm - electronics collection

10:00 am to 3:00 pm - environmental fair

Learn how Chesterfield County departments and businesses are being responsible protectors of the environment. An electronics collection will be held in the Sear's Tire America parking lot near Koger Center Drive from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  (Some fees to recycle electronics.)  Open the flyer.   Environmental Fair: FREE.

Three Lakes Park Earth Day Celebration

Activities and entertainment will include educational booths and displays, litter “pick-up” races, recycling games, the Henrico County Bookmobile, arts and crafts, games, face painting, and more. The Wildlife Center of Virginia will be on-site with live animals, and Ocean Encounters will give you hands-on fun with ocean critters. The Three Lakes Nature Center will feature hands-on activities and educational displays.

The flagship event on the National Mall is free and will feature elected officials and candidates, community speakers, celebrities and A-list musical acts as well as educational displays and voter registration.

Innsbrook Lake Cleanup Day

Volunteers needed to clean up around Lake Rooty.  Check in will be in the parking lot of 4900 Cox Road.  Supplies will be provided by Keep Henrico Beautiful and the Stewardship Virginia program.  In addition, all volunteers will receive a Stewardship Virginia certificate signed by the Governor.  For more information, please contact wendy.walton@highwoods.com

Looking for individuals and groups to help clean up Carter and DeJarnette Parks. Prince George County

Spring Community Clean Up Day

Roadways throughout the county will be cleaned of litter by volunteers that have adopted roads through VDOT's "Adopt-a-Highway" program.  Participants needing safety vests or litter bags can call the Department of Parks and Recreation at (804) 733-2646.  All county residents are encouraged to participate in the clean up activities and join their neighbors to help clean up roads and streets near their homes.

As a token  of appreciation for their volunteer hours, an appreciation picnic will be held May 3 from 12 noon to 2pm at Scott Park, located at Rte 106 behind the Courthouse.  Registration is required for the picnic.  Register by calling Wendy Joiner at 733-2646 by April 25.  Click here for more information.

 

James River Regional Cleanup Day

9 am - 1 pm

In its 8th year, the James River Regional Cleanup, sponsored by the James River Advisory Council, continues to grow.  Past events have seen hundreds of volunteers on foot and in boats dedicate part of a day to collect litter from the shoreline and water.
