School Recycling Pilot Program CVWMA's two-year school recycling pilot program at thirteen schools in central Virginia has begun! Our intent is to study the amount of paper that can be recycled at schools. The information we collect will be shared with school districts in central Virginia at the pilot program's conclusion. Our goal is to encourage more schools in our area to implement recycling programs.

- Recycling Coordinator Guide
Important information on accepted materials, weighing the materials, submiting data, and requesting service.
- Weight Tracking Form
Use this form to track individual bin weights from all locations. Place the form near the scale that will be used to weigh the paper. You may wish to keep the form in a binder or on a bulletin board.
- Monthly Reporting Form
Use this form to submit your monthly data to CVWMA. Data must be received no later than the 10th of the following month. Fax the form to CVWMA at (804) 359-8421.
- Service Request Form
Use this form to request service for your recycling bin. Fax the form to CVWMA at (804) 359-8421. SP Recycling will service (empty) the bin within 48 hours (excluding weekends).

Program Highlights
- This is a pilot program with a duration of 2 years.
- This program collects PAPER only.
- Participating schools will receive two years of recycling collection, classroom containers, training programs, incentive contests and educational materials.
- Each school selected to participate is contributing $15 per month ($360 total) towards the program's costs.
- The remainder of program costs (monthly service fee and classroom containers) are being funded by a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency
History of the School Recycling Pilot Program
Participation in this pilot program was open to public and private k-12 schools in the Town of Ashland, Chesterfield County, the City of Colonial Heights, Henrico County and the City of Richmond. Applications for the pilot program were due Friday, May 18, 2007. Thirteen schools were selected. Complete program details are available here.
