    Green Holiday Guide
This holiday season, consider the impact your celebration has on the environment. From the GIFTS you buy and the type of GIFT WRAP you use, to the HOLIDAY CARDS you send, we hope you'll find these tips helpful this month, and all year long.

    CVWMA Reminders About Holiday Recycling
    • Because Christmas and New Years both fall on Saturdays this year, Curbside Recycling collections will not be affected by either holiday.
    • Visit the CVWMA website, www.cvwma.com, for helpful advice about disposing of Christmas trees. The website will feature this information specific to each locality closer to the end of the month.
    • Wrapping paper cannot be recycled due to the metallic dyes used in making it. (Instead save it and reuse it next year.)
    • Cardboard boxes need to be flattened and should be no larger than 2 x 3 feet. (You can cut boxes down to the appropriate size using box cutters.)
    • Don't cover your recyclables in inclement weather.
Electronics Are Being Recycled in Central Virginia
Thanks to all who participated in one of our three Electronics Collection Events held this fall. We collected eight tons of electronics including computers, monitors, cell phones, televisions, printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines and other electronics. For more information about our new Electronics Program, visit our website.

Sincere Thanks to America Recycles Day Volunteers
Our sincere thanks to the following Bank of America employees for your dedication to recycling and the environment.

    Sissy Womack
    Ashley Womack
    Ann Hicks
    David Carmon
    Joe Gendron
    Elijah Gendron
    Jean Goodman
    Chris Goodman
    Jess Gonzalez
    Anthony Gonzalez

CVWMA would like to thank our friends at Bank of America's Environmental Network who helped make our night at the Richmond RiverDogs Hockey game a success.

CVWMA encouraged fans to bring 6 aluminum cans with them to the game. Bank of America volunteers were stationed at three entrances of the coliseum.

Each person who brought cans received a genuine RiverDogs hockey puck (made out of recycled rubber, of course).

Over 2,000 aluminum cans were collected at the event and 1,000 hockey pucks were distributed.
